HCL Concord Golf
Introducing our new patented Rapid
Fire Multi Flex wood shafts!!!
- They will whip through the impact zone and hit the ball farther.
- They will turn the clubhead toe to square at impact, and combat slicing.

Two years in the making, these are the best value in golf!

While Tour players, pro's and low handicappers, seem to prefer irons over woods (some
may only have a driver and 3 wood in their bag), nontheless there has been an increasing trend to
more woods and fewer irons. Over half of the inquiries we receive state that the longest
iron the player hits well is the 5 iron. These same people are able to hit fairway woods in place
of long irons and seek substitutions for the 3 and 4 irons. Others will prefer hybrid irons to solve the
problem of getting long irons to lift the ball into the air at a proper launch angle. For this reason we
have stressed fairway woods in the listing below, and have offered sets of irons, with the long clubs
being optional, in our irons/hybrid section. This allows the player to economically pick what he really
needs.
We have repeatedly noted that many players are using wood lofts,
especially in drivers and 3 woods, that are much too strong for
them. This is a recent quotation from Lanny Wadkins. "I played 8 degree
and 9 degree drivers my whole life. When I switched to a 10.5 degree driver, the first thing I did was be
able to get the ball up and turn it over. And I hit it longer". Unless the player has a
swing speed 100 mph or better, driver lofts below 10 degrees and 3 wood lofts below 15 degrees, should
prove counter productive. Most players will achieve greater distance by greater ball carry - by getting
the ball in the air at a higher launch angle. Strong lofts also promote slicing, especially on the longer
clubs.
The drivers offered range in volume from 300 cc's to 460 cc's. In theory the
wider the head the less twist on an off center hit. In practice, however, slower swingers who
have a slicing problem generally arrive at impact with the club face open and impart a glancing blow to
the ball. The wider the head the worse the situation since it now becomes difficult to square up the head
due to inertial drag. If the golfer cannot correct the problem through practice or lessons,
experience has shown that most such players are better served with heads that are narrower, in the order
of 94 to 98 mm's measured from heel to toe. For those who fight a hook, the wider heads will
add toe drag and tend to straighten out the ball flight. Square hits on the face center typically
add 10 to 15 yards to the drive with no increase in swing speed. Each player is unique and
must pick those clubs that fit his or her swing, not what the Tour Pro's are using.
Fairway woods do not have to be matched to the driver model, or vice versa. If, for
example, you have trouble getting a #3 wood airborne from the fairway then you should select a low profile
model or a higher lofted model. Or select a strong lofted #5 wood and make it a little longer to capture
more distance. Should you want to make a high lofted wood, a 5 , 7 or 9, an inch or more longer than
standard then please check with us by e- mail. We will advise if the head weight is compatible with that
length. When you use the swing speed table in the Club Fitting section to pick the shaft flex, you will
have automatically taken care of matching the wood to your swing.
( All woods have our own proprietary performance graphite shafts. The Rapid Fire shafts are
offered as an option in most cases).

Woods - Drivers
- M*a*g*n*u*m 550 Ultra XL driver, w/ beta Ti face, 460 cc's, 8, 10 & 12
degrees, w/ Rapid Fire shafts, RH
At 460 cc's, this is as large as the USGA allows! The design includes a deep face,
a long length from face
to rear to enhance launch angle, and a reasonable face width from heel to toe so the player can more
readily
square the face at impact. Our test players found the SP-700 beta Ti face to be fairly explosive - a
"hot" face
that produced a penatrating ball flight with more hang time than before.
The specs. are :- face angle is 1 deg. closed; face height is 60 mm's; face width from
heel to toe is 110 mm's;
and the depth from face to rear is 105 mm's.The player should use extra long 3&1/4" tees to obtain
proper
launch angle.
The 8 degree model is most suited for strong players with very high swing speeds. Others,
including low
handicappers with upright swings, will be best served at 10 degrees of loft. Slower swingers and
seniors are more suited in the 12 degree model. All will find very little twist on off center
hits.
Special note:- Since these heads are very deep from face to rear (
105 mm's ), they tend to produce a
higher launch angle than is customary. This is done because most players are better served by more carry
in the air. Therefore, players who carry the ball more than 240 yards will be able to hit the 8 degree
model
with a good launch angle and plenty of carry.
The main body is finished in metallic black to reduce sun glare. There is an aiming arrow
on the top
for ease in set up as you address the ball.
For those who are into very big heads, these are very enjoyable clubs.

Mag*num 550 XL drivers, beta Ti face,
8,10,12,&14 deg. 410 cc w/ Rapid Fire graphite
shafts RH
This is a model which allows the player to shift weight cartridges to 4 different locations, in many
combinations, so that he or she can change the ball flight pattern. The launch angle can be increased or
decreased, as desired. Spin rate can be raised or lowered as needed. The weights can also be positioned so a
slice or a hook can be combated. Fairly neutral positions can also be obtained that permit the player to adjust
to his or her particular requirements.
The design has the weight ports located around the perimeter of the sole, producing less twist at impact
and therefore less inaccurate shots.
As is the case with any deep faced club, please use the longer tees, 2 3/4" or more,
to insure that the ball is teed up high enough so the clubhead top is at or below the equator of the
ball.
In conjunction with the wide flex selection of our new patented Rapid Fire Multi flex
shafts, these shafts will fit any talent level and yield good performance.

- Pres*tige Classic driver, Ti 6 - 4,
offset, 13 degrees, 350 cc's w/ Rapid Fire graphite shaft
RH
- This driver is the answer for those who
slice the ball. For many reasons ranging from, no chance to
play or practice a lot; age; bad backs; lessons don't seem to hold, etc. many players cannot
overcome
slicing.
- With the slice is a loss of distance. The open face imparts a glancing blow to the ball and the
full energy
of is not transferred to the
ball.
- The offset helps square up the club at impact. The
higher 13 degree loft produces higher launch angles
needed for more carry in the air and more distance overall. These heads are 96 mm's wide, from heel
to toe. Experience shows that it is much easier for the player to bring the toe around to a square
position -
to overcome toe drag - when the face width is less than 100 mm's.
- The face is 55 mm's high - moderately deep. Players should make sure they use tees
at least 2 & 3/4"
high for best performance both in terms of distance as well as accuracy.
- This design was specifically created to help those
with the problems outlined above.

Driver 12 deg.,
17-4 stainless steel, w/ Rapid Fire graphite shaft RH
This is made with a double rail on the sole to lower the center of mass of the head
and make it easier to get a higher ball flight. the rail, and the little step on the rear of the sole, are
to prevent scuffing during the downswing. This is an easy to use driver, made for those with slower swing
speeds, so that they can increase their ball carry and overall distance. It will fit with any of the
fairway woods listed.

Utility Woods - Fairway
Woods
-
Synch*ron II fairway woods - 17-4 stainless steel, low profile w/ Rapid Fire
graphite shaft RH & LH
These fairway woods have a shallow face and a low center of gravity to get the ball in
the air rapidly. They have a two rail bottom to part the grass in rough and to handle difficult lies. All
have a face height, from sole to the head top, less than the diameter of a ball. The lofts are generous.
These are particularly useful for those players who have difficulty with their long irons and need a
substitute that they can hit.

- Pres*tige XPII fairway woods, 5, 7 & 9, RH and 5, & 7, LH, w/ Rapid Fire
graphite shafts
- These woods are made of 15-5 stainless steel for those who like the feel of a steel
with higher tensile
strength. There are two rails on the sole to aid in getting out of rough and bad lies. The faces are
shallow,
conforming to our standard for designs that get the ball airborne quickly and easily.
- These are a favorite of low handicappers and long hitters, who tend to get more distance
from these designs than with 17-4 stainless steel heads.

- Many players have successfully solved their difficulties using long irons by
replacing them with
either fairway woods or hybrid irons. Both are good solutions.
-These clubs are another possible solution. In reality they are mini woods that
are powered by wood graphite shafts.( Wood shafts have 0.335" tips and are more flexible than iron
shafts
which have larger 0.370" tips ).
-Each head is just 32 mm's high - much less than the ball - to provide lift.
-The soles have two parallel rails to aid in bad lies.
The standard lengths are longer than irons but shorter than normal fairway woods.
24 deg. hybrid to replace the 4 iron - 41.0"
28 deg. hybrid to replace the 5 iron - 40.5"
32 deg. hybrid to replace the 6 iron - 40.0"
- Virtually all players should find these Recovery Hybrids hit the ball farther than
either standard or hybrid irons, especially so with the Rapid Fire shafts
used.
